General
We use premium full-grain and top-grain leathers, often vegetable-tanned for durability and character. These leathers develop a rich patina over time as they age and are unique in texture and feel.
Vegetable-tanned leather uses natural tannins, making it easy to tool, carve, and mould. Chrome-tanned leather, on the other hand, is tanned with mineral salts, making it softer and quicker to produce. For durable, hand-crafted pieces that age beautifully, we prefer vegetable-tanned leather.
Use a soft, dry cloth to dust off regularly. For deeper cleaning, apply a leather-specific cleaner sparingly, then condition with a pH-balanced leather conditioner. Avoid excessive water, direct heat or sunlight, and always store in a cool, dry place.
